Yeah. It looks ok on bright backgrounds, but sticks a bit too much out on dark backgrounds. I wouldn't mind if there was no shadow at all. Just slightly bigger tray icon to compensate for the lack of the shadow (1 or 2 pixels bigger icon).
Icon has to be alpha blended to look smooth and soft like it does no.

    bug i think.

when selecting the 'C:\' in the scan other item the precentage jumps to 99%.

not sure if this is a bug or not.

i read in a PC Mag review of beta 3 that PCA has issue not detecting rootkits, removing only EXE files and not the just malware files left over.

does this mean that PCA has great detecting but poor remove rates of left over junk files?

Given the carateristics of most cloud products I won't be surprised. Also this gives you a good reason to buy the full bown Panda product with cleaning capabilities... Or you combine it with a free tool ofcource :)

False as stated by pbust, sorry comrade.

Actually I think the review you are referring to was of the very first Beta release of Panda Cloud Antivirus, not Beta3. We fixed a lot of the disinfection and rootkit deactivation issues in Beta2 and Beta3, so these should not be a problem.

Panda Cloud Antivirus should have the same detection & disinfection capabilities as Panda paid products ;)

says .90 so they are talking about beta 3 failing. i wouldnt hope PCA would have poor detection and removel. how do you explain what they are saying in the review and PCA being poor?

    thank you

Beta 3 is actually much better than beta 1, which I previously used and tested. Rejzor presented on this topic several suggestions that I think would be good idea to consider. Especially like that Panda Cloud Antivirus remains effective even without internet connection unlike some other cloud antiviruses.

I think it still refers to Beta1. Look at the review date (05.06.09). This is Beta1. Also look at the interface, its the Beta1 interface. I'm pretty sure this is Beta1 and not Beta3.

Visibly it won't be much different than Beta3, just loads of internal bug fixes (WSC registration under W7, initial scan optimization, corrupted caches making slower app executions, etc.)

Any update on the next beta release? I have had a lot of issue with beta 3, and am anxious to try the next version.

Yes adware is detected as a category of spyware. If we look at the detailed categories these are the ones that Panda Cloud Antivirus detects & disinfects:

If it detects the same aren't you afraid that it is going to damage sales of your other AV products? I don't understand much the philosophy behind this free product. Ok it has less features. Thx

Detection is not exactly the same. Panda retail versions also sport TruPrevent which is not included in Panda Cloud.

It's the same idea as behind AVG, Avast, Avira. Their free versions detect the same thing as their Pro versions (signature only, see comment by RejZor).

You are 100% correct. I was referring to signatures only.
