Actually the on-access should be detecting the malware as well. What extension is the file that you have seen this behaviour with?

My personal review : It will be updated when I have done more things

Installation went very good (1 minute)
Panda slows my pc . With my other antivirus Firefox started in 2 seconds and with Panda it is using 5 seconds and sometimes it freezes

    Going to check other things

This is only initially right after install until its cache is filled. Please allow it to perform its initial scan (5-10 mins) and/or perform a quick scan from the product interface. After this the cache should be filled and you shouldn't experience this delay.

There is any solution for this?

Yes. The new website & registration webservice are hosted in a new high-availability and distributed infrastructure. This meant that the DNS records for the domain had to move. This move is taking between 24 to 48 hours to replicate to all DNS servers across the Internet. In some areas this is taking longer than others as some DNS simply ignore the update intervals set to the record.

If you have access to a completely different conection to the net, try through that. Otherwise it should be propagated by today (48 hours after the change).

You are absolutely correct. This is one of the technologies we still have to implement in the short term and which is in our short list of top critical priorities.

    Hello again

I have done a Quick scan. Nothing to report. And then i rebooted my pc. Panda is slow at startup (after 2 minutes i see the panda logo in my taskbar and before that my computer freezed)

    Firefox is now quicker

I'm abandoning Panda for now. I got more and more problems with it

    - Cannot login to steam
    - Slow startup
    - Delay in opening things

    There is one positive thing

    - Very low memory use :)

I was using regular EICAR sample (eicar.com) downloaded from HTTP link.

I just tested that very same thing and it detected it without a problem (on-access that is) right after download.

Do you have the following key by any chance:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Panda Security\Panda Service Host]
    "BackgroundDisabled"="-"

I've uninstalled Panda Cloud because of this and because Action Center was not detecting it's status right. But shouldn't this key be there by default?
I mean i wasn't tweaking it in any way. I just installed it on Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and that was it.

No it shouldn't be. Just checking to see if it was there from a previous manual patch we released for Beta2.

I wasn't using any older version before it. I just installed 0.9 Beta 3 on a fresh clean system.

It's also annoying when 0 bytes long file is left on HDD, even though it's suppose to be cleaned... Again eicar.com, this time on Windows XP Mode...

Just installed PCAV today. Have to say thats its improved quite a bit from beta2. Cleaning/Removal is way better than before (just tested against a couple of zero-day viri). Haven't experienced any slow downs yet! *fingers crossed*
    Will keep testing.
BTW this is on Windows 7 (x86).

    Cheers.

As mentioned this is the issue that will be fixed in v1.0 release.

From my experience you just have to fix the following:

    - Action Center detection of Panda Cloud under Windows 7
    - proper On-Access detection (immediate detection of samples)
    - proper cleaning of files (not leaving 0 bytes files)

Once these things are fixed, i'm really thinking about using Panda Cloud on my netbook due to very low drag. But i might use it on my other systems as well, to replace MSE. I like MSE, but it's updater is awful. Cloud on the other hand is always updated signatures, so that's much better.

I just noticed what's the exact problem with Action Center under Windows 7.

If Panda Cloud and Windows Defender are both enabled, everything is fine.
But if Panda Cloud is running and i disable Windows Defender, all of the sudden, Panda Cloud also says that it's turned off (even though it's not).
It seems like Panda Cloud status is linked to Windows Defender.
