Running Beta 1.9 with firewall disabled, using Windows XP Firewall.
Seems internet throughput a bit faster with Beta 1.9 than version 1.5.
Issue with Firefox easily fixed with URL Filtering Beta 2.00.12.

URL Filter update will be pushed out in the next week to automatically fix the issue on all users.

Is the 1.9 beta the pro version or free version?

I ran into a problem yesterday with PCAV beta 1.9. I tried to run a system scan and got a BSOD. I haven't had one of those in so long, I almost didn't realize what I was looking at. After a reboot, I tried running a scan again, and got the BSOD again. Anyone else run into this?

As much as I like the beta 1.9, I'm thinking I'll wait for it to come out of beta.

Spare machine I hope. Primary ones should never run beta no matter how stable it seems.

It you could help us replicate this it'd be great.

If not done yet configure Windows to produce full memory dumps on crashes.

Then try replicating the problem by running another scan. You can send us the full memory dump using the FTPUploader tool from www.cloudantivirus.com/forum.

Is the firewall going to get a conventional pop-up alert for applications wanting outbound access? (Rather than a manual insert blacklist)

The way it works if an application is blocked their is no notification the FW just finally the application itself will complain the is no internet connection.

And the way its designed means I have to fill in the fields myself. And anyone could easily restrict inbound instead of outbound in error.

Just saw a pop-up that asked for permission to allow out-bound. So what is happening in my Pandacloud FW must be 'glitch' that will be fixed in 2.0. What a relief.

I found this very informative page on the US site of Panda Security.
    http://www.pandasecurity.com/usa/technology/
About the technology that Panda uses and how many data centers they have etc...

For example about their Data Centers....
And I wish that more vendors would tell more about their technology and how eveything is connected. Or am I alone thinking that it's interesting reading about all this stuff :doubt: So many thanks Panda for sharing this with us :thumb:

Any news regarding 2.0? It seems like a excessively long beta periode with few builds been tested (at least open beta builds). :)

Alrighty, Pedro. I guess it's a fair and understandable answer, but maybe you Panda guys should consider retiring the oldschool versions still being supported. Then take half of the developers and add them to the cloud team instead to speed up development for the benefit of all users, nobody on the "slow oldschool" versions will know the difference anyway. :p

    Just a suggestion. ;)

Oh i know 1.9 fairly well i have tested it extensively and there are still kinks to be ironed out whether i use this or the 1.5.1 release. Particularly with regards to the behavioral analysis, this is a problem spot for me with both 1.5.1 and 1.9.1 and i would really love to use this option. This and who knows maybe 2.0 was so close to release that Pedro had a bit of info, it has been very quite.

I have had a pleasant back & forth with pbust regarding this so i just hope for more before 2.0 is released and my post were simply friendly teasing.

2.0 is still a long ways ahead but when it is released I will be the first to download it. :D

    Bigger fan than trjam. Yep.

That means it will be a 12 month Beta (or close).
A bit long, isn't it? Maybe there's some fundamental flaw difficult to resolve.

Maybe I should have kept out the word, "long". :D I guess compared to the Panda 2012 beta it is longer.

I hope the URL filter will some day be unified with the cloud AV. I hte it as a separate component...

Agreed. I hated having to install then uninstall a toolbar just to get it.
