    Hello together,

I have a question concerning panda products.

What is the different between Panda Cloud Pro and Panda Antivirus Pro 2011

Cloud is only scanning in the cloud, but Pro is using the cloud, too.
Cloud is more expensive then pro, althought pro has even a firewall and offline scanning.
Is there a difference between the detection rate?
Is Pro only scanning by signature?
When does Pro use the cloud?

I want to buy one of it. I'm always online
Which one would you suggest me to buy?

    Thanks for your help

    Kind regards

    seppi

Panda Antivirus 2011 have a better overall protection, i'm pretty sure it has other modules and it contains the "Cloud" scanning abilities too.

Also, it would work better in offline conditions because it doesn't have to rely so much in the cloud. :)

Oh,come on , don't be so sure . Have you completely evoluated this part by yourself ?

It is Panda design to rely on cloud , even AVC tests prove it (have a look at the end of page 9 , AVC report No.25)
Without internet or with real-time protection that doesn't use the cloud info in real time just like Panda Cloud AV uses it , the results of Panda Pro would be disasterous.

I would like to see this answered by Panda. The comparison tool on their website does not include PCAV(free or Pro). I wonder if PCAV is really any lighter than Panda Antivirus Pro. I also wonder if the behavior blocking and detection is 100% the same between the two products. If so, I think they should probably work on eliminating one of the two products.

This lists the features of Panda Cloud and Cloud Pro. The Pro version utilizes the Behavior Blocking/Tru Prevent technology: http://www.cloudantivirus.com/en/basicProtection/

The Panda AV Pro has email scanning, Firewall and a full blown guard with full set of signatures. Panda Cloud works rather similar to Prevx in that it accesses Panda's database for scanning so you don't have all the resources running like a full AV program. It does load a limited set of signature for some protection in the event of loss of internet. Once you have done a full scan it builds a database of trusted programs and runs very-very light.

Thanks. I guess I will have to try both back to back. I have my doubts PCAV is much lighter than the full product. The reason is I have not found PCAV much lighter than other AVs I have tested(in terms of CPU time, disk io, and memory). Maybe more testing is necessary. Everyone says it is very light, but has that been proven in benchmarks, or is that just based on assumptions (i.e. since it is "cloud" it must be lighter)?

I have not yet seen PCAV included in any system performance testing.

Correct me with a proof if I am wrong but I think the behaviour analysis in Panda Cloud Pro is not TruPrevent used in other products.

It's not called truprevent because it is integrated in Panda Cloud AV but it is protecting from the same things.

Lol, protecting from the cloud xD

    Is it as effective?
I think it would be better to have the module in the PC rather than in cloud :p

Panda Cloud have both protection local and cloud, the only problem is that the local definitions are for the most common and for the most actual threats.

But as somebody said before if he is not going to have internet connection most of the time is better to choose another AV like Panda AV, kaspersky, norton....
