I just bought the lifetime license of Outpost Firewall Pro, and would like a little guidance on how to properly configure it. I get the just of it, but since I've never used this one before, I kind of want to get it right the first time.

Anyone using Outpost Firewall who may know the best configuration?

I'm looking for a tight and secure config with moderate notifications/popups.

You may get better results posting http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/forum.php?
You usually get a reply pretty quick.I purchased the suite around the holidays and am impressed with how light and tweakable it is.I have it saved on an image as I am not using it at the moment. The default settings are for the most part inadequate as they are intended for adoption by the masses.Manny, minoka, hayc, and kronke will all be more than happy to help you over in the outpost forum I linked.I'm a bit of a novice with the firewall myself, but even I made a fair bit of changes.Hope you like the firewall.

I use the basic configuration. Never had a problem with it and it's configured to stop the most serious problems. Setting things to Max will produce too many pop out windows.

Ok, Basically I just have everything on default settings, but set to Block Most as my Firewall Policy.

Here's the thing - these two are opposites. OP can be very quiet but the tighter you make it the more popups you get because you get to the point where you have to decide.

This firewall is so tweakable that nobody can really respond in one post to this. Come over to the forum but don't ask this question. Rather ask about the different modules and how to use them.

We do have an oldie but a goodie FAQ on how to make a secure configuration. Start your reading with that: http://www.outpostfirewall.com/foru...-Producing-a-Secure-Configuration-for-Outpost

That and I also changed the Anti-Leak slider to optimal. Did you happen to change that as well?
