Hi we have just installed the Exchange av pack for our SBS 2003 box and NOD32 for the XP client PC's.
Xmon is running and half of our PC's are now not recieving emails via Outlook. They appear as connected but will constantly display 'waiting to update this folder' and no new mail is retrieved. The Clients are all running Outlook 2003 and have email scanning running on the NOD32 app.

Is this a known issue and are there any resolutions?

    Is your Office 2003 patched/updated?

Did you follow the proper exclusions within AMON on your server?

    How large is your infostore?

Also try going into XMON scan settings, and uncheck background scanning.

Thanks for the quick reply YOSC.

Have made necessary changes for AMON so it is not scanning the defined folders.

All Outlook installations are patched and up to date.

Exch mail store is about 50gb.

    Xmon scanning changes made.

Still no change for the client workstations which are not recieving emails.

Could it be due to the fact that we only purchased 15 mailbox licence but we have 25 mailboxes (although 10 are not really used and do not need protecting)

No, that would not affect functionality, it would just end up with a blacklisted license.

I've not seen this after installing XMON....

Can they connect via OWA and see their mailboxes fine?

Is Outlook running in cached mode? If so, try killing cached mode on one workstation as a test..and delete the OST file.

Specs of the server? And is the server running anything else?
Is the infostore on a drive/partition other than the OS drive?
An other security software installed on the Exchange box?
