    Hi,

The first thing that happens when starting up Outlook 2003 is for it to do an automatic send / receive.

Sometimes, however it will only get as far as 50% and then hang / lock. At which point I have to use Task Manager to kill the outlook.exe

The error in the Event Viewer is:

Hanging application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 11.0.5510.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

I run a combination of NOD32, TrojanHunter and LooknStop, so NOD32 might not be the problem here but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

    Thanks
    SimonW

No issues here. Download SP1 for 2K3 and see if it helps.

No issues here either... I am using the new beta of NOD32 though. The new http scanner is really great since it scans my hotmail messages in Outlook 2003 :)

Nope I seem to be getting a different problem than that. Whenever Outlook 2003 fires up Word 2003 (say to edit or forward a document) it will hang. The error I am getting looks something like this:

Hanging application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 11.0.6353.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

I am running XP Pro and Office 2003 with Norton 2004
