How are you updating your OS and apps?. If you would ask me. "I am all the way manual dude." By setting everything to manual, always using standalone installer instead of live installer crap.
I use FlashGet to check for updated installers for over 400 programs. If FlashGet downloads an update, I run the installer to update the software.
I were more asking updating softwere and not downloading That's what it is. Poster probably does not understand technical aspects or discussion.
Flash Got is just a download manger as stated by trott3r. The term live Installer means, it using app's download accelerator (not download manger). Ones it's done, it runs a prominent installer of an app. Unlike standalone installer meaning it's a full offline app. or prominent installer.
As you can see in the screenshot, FlashGet has an update function, which will check for changes to any file it has downloaded. I have made an Update category, and moved all of the installers I want to check for updates to, from the Downloaded category to the Update one I created. To check for updates, I click on the Update category, use Ctrl A to select all files, then right click and select Check for update. Then FlashGet will check for updates to all of those installers. Whenever it finds an update, it will download it. I'm using v1.73 of FlashGet which is ten years old. The 2.x and 3.x releases don't have the update function, and v1.73 is more stable than the final 1.x release, v1.9.6.
