OS selector and recovery console

I am using DDS 9.0 .537 love it.. but do have 2 questions.

1.
after installing the recovery console it shows up as a unknown operating system in the os selector. if I click on it it crashes without starting recovery console. If I pick xp and then once in the xp menu pick recovery console it works fine. Any ideas?

2.
Since I couldn't get the recovery console to work from the os selector, I hit delete, each time I reboot it shows up again.. I finally did hide the choice and it seems to have removed it from the menu.. Is there a better way to handle it?

What I found to work is click the XP OS icon in OSS and press F8 immediately to call up the XP selection menu (XP, Recovery Console and other boot options). OSS places a ; in front of Recovery Console i.e. ;C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons in the boot.ini file.
