Does anyone use Orca? I have been experimenting with a few different browsers on my (Vista) laptop including Pale Moon, Avant, Maxthon & Sleipnir. So far, the only one that has appealed to me is Orca. It is very fast & can utilise Firefox add-ons (sort of anyway).

OK, I've uninstalled Orca. It was a bit buggy, it had problems closing & opening, not unlike Flock once did on my laptop. It's probably a 'Vista' thing.

Shame, as I had hopes for it. :'(

I installed Avant which is the same as Orca (why they have two I don't know) and I had the same problem you had. It gave me BSOD and I posted it on their forum and I can't even get a response that makes any sense. I posted weeks ago.

I really like this browser but with the attitude they have I don't see it going any where soon.

As far as I know Orca is Gecko-engined & Avant is Trident, but they are remarkably similar. Orca works well with NoScript, ABP & WOT. You don't have the GUI extension buttons but you can right-click for NoScript options & WOT works in Google, Yahoo & Ask Jeeves search pages. Orca had some beautiful skins & about 20 are pre-installed & you don't have to re-start to change them.

Yeah, it's a shame. I really liked Orca as well. :(

@Rilla927, I tried the GreenBrowser & found that it has a lot of commonality with Avant/Orca. It was very light & responsive. I couldn't figure out the adblocking though so I uninstalled it. You might want to give it a spin. I had no opening/closing issues with it.

Well that was short lived. It would not let me change the homepage from all that blinky crap. I hated having to choose the language everytime it was started.

I didn't even get that far, the blinky crap is annoying. Once I couldn't figure out the adblocker I waved it goodbye.

I suppose the only one left now is Slimbrowser.

I don't know about you, but I just aren't that enthusiastic any more.

Reading the FAQ... Seems very interesting.

One confusing line here (on the main page):
    Requirements: GTK+ 2.10, WebkitGTK+ 1.1.1, libXML2, libsoup 2.25.2, sqlite
Optional: Unique 0.9, libidn, docutils, libnotify

I wonder what that means for Windows users?

Have you tried Maxthon 3? The latest build is very stable and near feature complete. I think it's much improved over v2.

No, I may give it a whizz though. Does the adblocker work on it?
