    Hi, thanks for help.
Can u tell what are ur settings.
Pls do like this-- F12, turn off Java and Java script. Then go to yahoo and turn on java and java scripts selectively for yahoo.com( F12> site preferences> java script/ java on for yahoo.com), now sign in for yahoo mail and observe.
Second one- with java and java scripts turned off go to download.com and cnet.com and see for any error. Then turn on java and java scripts selectively for download.com and cnet.com and see if u get any errors.

Also what is ur version of Opera?

    Thanks

    Welcome
I have all options disabled in F12. I only allow java, or jvscript, or cookies or popups or flash on a site by site basis, never more than necessary.
    See screenshot.

    Home.
    Try the following:

    F12 and activate javascript
In address bar, type "opera:config" and hit "enter"
Scroll down to "User Pref" and click it.
Scroll down and find "Browser javascript", and next to it change "0" to "1"
Save changes at bottom of page by clicking "save" button.

That should correct the incorrect sripting happening on the sites listed at http://www.opera.com/docs/browserjs/

Then go to one of the listed addresses, and see if the display is corrected by the maneuvre.

I know that there's a tool which allows you to edit this list on your own, it's talked about at http://www.opera.com/support/tutorials/userjs/

Good luck and please post here to tell me how it goes.

It seems only music.download.com is on the default list.

It seems learning to use the tool mentioned above to edit the list by yourself would possibly do miracles in your case!?

I identify as Opera when experimenting, as nothing (through webwasher) for casual surf.

As I understand the whole issue, it seems Opera is trying very hard to respect web standards but that some sites are not yet completely updated to those standards, which causes Opera to see they're "weird" in some way and mention it to the surfer. Hence the alert popup you get. The additional tool is provided by Opera to in a sens circumvent the problem by adding such sites to a special list which kind of tells the browser to "correct it silently for display, no alert".

One can learn more about webstandards right here and by testing your browsers here

Right, but don't know why. I don't think WW has anything to do with that.

Cheers, and let us know how it goes for you.

    it's a badly coded page -

instead of logging an error it's trying to load it :thumbd:

To me, in a sense Opera is just saying "warning, that's a badly coded webpage" which is a useful warning to my mind. One can contact the site's webmaster and ask him to correct the scripting.

No, I always surf with Java disabled, unless I specifically decided to allow a java applet for some interactive site. In all the examples discussed above, Java was disabled on my systems.

Java and Javscript only have a few letters in common, they're not related otherwise.

Virus total does not work in Opera. If I upload a sample I get this window instead of results.
    Jotti works.
