Opera 10 Beta updated to beta 2 build 1642 for me today.
Updated thru the browser's automatic update feature.

Again just for fun, some speed tests with the latest Opera snapshot.

Tested on: Vista SP1 32-bit, 512k wireless, IPv6 enabled. Values are in seconds, and averaged over five runs.

    Thanks for the heads-up Lodore.

And for those that do or don't want Unite included in the browser:

    "Opera Unite and beta 3?

Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about Opera Unite!

"It might not be part of beta 3, but we have still been working hard on improving it. So for those of you who want to test that, please download one of the builds below instead of the official beta 3. These builds are basically the same as beta 3, only with Unite included." - from Opera's website.

Silly question but exactly is a Release Candidate?:o_O
Is the final version of Opera 10 or still one (or two steps) before the "official" update?

If the release is the final version, then the candidate for release is the one before it. ;)

    Often RC becomes Final.

I've been checking the "check for updates" on my beta3 version all day. It continues to say I have the latest version. If the RC is out, why don't they post it?

Mine wasn't updating either so i done it manually from here: http://www.opera.com/browser/next/

They often delay built in updates (not just Opera) in case there's issues, they can correct them before being pushed out to the masses.

The same here, you have to do manually update form beta to RC.
After that everything works like a charm. :thumb:

Probably a few minor changes and we're set.

RC2 is out and the blog also says on target for release on tuesday.

One thing I have noticed is that the icons for each tab are smaller.

btw upgrade install is now an option on limited user accounts. it asks for the update options before requesting admin rights so the upgrade works correctly.overall well done opera.

Agreed. I will never use anything else. There is nothing I need done that Opera cannot do.
