Opera was there since the early days of IE version 4, 5, 6 and 7 and it was superior to IE then as it is now. On my noisy dial up in the early days of internet, the only browser that would let me surf with images turned off was Opera, IE would time out, so would Netscape.

On my Ubuntu x64 Intrepid, Opera loads faster than FF, uses less resources and browsing is fast as well compared to FF. FF starts out fast and then slows down drastically when multiple image rich sites are opened up, this is not the case with Opera.

IMHO, There is one giant amount of FF users that prefer it not specifically for the browser itself, which is far from good to be honest, but they love the stuff third-party people create like AdBlockPlus, FEBE, AutoCloseBookmarkFolders, DownloadHelper and Flashgot.

But the pure browser ? Firefox ? Naahhh !:doubt:

there is two things i want in opera.
    1. seprate process for each tab, just like chrome and IE8
    2. the ability to export sesssions to a file.

I vote for second, for the other, I would rather open up multiple instances of Opera than have separate process and consume resources. Opera devs have already spoken about this and their answer so far is a firm NO.

I was there in the early days of Mosaic and have made my choice (for now, changes happen).

I don't know if that's true or not, but Firefox is better on Linux for me. But then again, Opera seems a bit better on Linux as well.

    Hi Lodore,

I read it on the Opera blog, if I can find it again, I will post the link for you.

Tiny Spell works and so does Aspell which works system wide. If you want inline, there is user js at the Opera forum and it works well.

FWIW tinySpell is system-wide as well.
