i did a search and found skype here -
    http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/broumbroum23/openSUSE_11.3/

when i used suse i never had a problem with software, i searched all the extra repos using webpin and normally found what i needed. here is webpin
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1104557&postcount=82

however, it doesn't look like the search engine has been updated for 11.3 so i just searched 11.2 and looked in the person's 11.3 repo and it was there.

    iceni60,

Thanks for the skype repo find, will add it to SUSE, even after install, unlike Ubuntu, dependencies have to be installed separately, this includeds ia32 libs.

I have switched all my computers over to OpenSuse 11.3 for me it just works.. It's nice to be back on the Suse train after all these years of fail.
