Hello, OpenBSD 4.3 has been released the May 1, 2008. The full changelog is available at : http://www.openbsd.org/43.html For newcomers, I recommend the following website, that has been recommended by someone else here for the previous release : http://www.openbsd101.com/ This website is a very good guide for installing, upgrading, or securing OpenBSD, and gives many tips for everyday tasks. Regards, gkweb.
Yes saw that..for the pros and the server mechs.. Unfortunately, much as I want this to work for me, the set-up, some of the intricacies of the deliberately arcane utilities set-ups, the lack of even reasonable "BLOB", (look it up )for enduser convenience makes it all a little tricky for Desktop use ( I know: not the primary function) much as I respect the hard line taken by the devs. Imho this is not a great or easy experience (heh heh think Slack for the newbie ) on the desktop. I applaud the effort s of PC-BSD and FreeBSD to make BSD accessible for more endusers while maintaining 'essence of *nix.' Even then ( at least for me) a step-up again from Linux but a step I'm trying for... regards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_blob
Hello, I'll have to get to BSD one of these days. Unfortunately, I'm too busy, wife, work, site, book ... The Linux book is now at 320 pages and counting ... 1,700 left to go ... Then, I guess I'll tackle BSD. Mrk
