Open source real-time AV's?

  3. Besides ClamAV not much is out there. Most AV's need to be paid for the work that has to be committed to keeping the database/new malware samples up to date.

    Yeah I agree the only one I know on top of my head is ClamAV

    I haven't seen any open source alternatives barring Clam AV, and it does a mediocre job at best, I wouldn't rely on it. If you are looking for free security software to use at work environment or similar, there are some free ones that permit usage in small work environments (MSE and Comodo are two examples if I remember correctly).

    Yes, you can use Comodo Internet Security free even in business.

    Yeah, Clam is the only one I've ever heard of as well. Was hoping someone in here knew of more... perhaps even a diamond in the rough.
