I have tried --window-position=x,y --window-size=a,b but Chrome opens exactly where it wants. Can anyone help. (--new-window works ok) :(

I just tried doing what you said, Mouse to the top of Chrome, your cursor should chage to a Up/ Down Arrow, left click, and drag to the size you want. Do exactly the same with the left or right sides. Click on the Top of Chrome and drag it to the possition you want on your desktop, and now close Chrome, and open it again, It should open in exactly the same possition as you closed it and the size it was when you closed it ;)

Hi thanks for that, but that is not exactly what I want to do. I need to get multiple windows with chrome opening on different monitors - therefore in differing x, y positions.
