My online armor subscription ran out the first of august so I figured that I would upgrade to the online armor++ and after I did that I don't see any difference. It says Online Armor++ but I don't see any scanning options. Also how safe is run safer as far as malware goes..

    Thanks

EDIT: After a full reinstall I now see the antivirus module, with the very nice context menu for easy scanning. It is definately worth the $20 to upgrade.

OA++ has the A-Squared and Ikarus AM/AV engines and it can do on-demand scan (via right-clicking on a file for example). It also does on-execution scanning automatically when a program is launched. Plus it uses the OASIS database to cut down false positives.

An application running with reduced rights/run safer ... cannot

    • install drivers
    • write to system
    • write to root of drives

Also, Unknown apps status prompt for any "actions"

Thanks much for the info, Online Armor++ is very light on resources. Much lighter than if I installed A-squared AM. I've been spoiled by Defensewall for so long so that I never really worried about hardening my os.
