Did you activate "Hidden processes detection" at Programs > Options?

However, it warns me when hiding a process with HideProc.

But there is no prompt about RegHide (except for program wants to run), even if I disable the Whitelist and set it to "Unknown".

    Cheers

    It doesn't work.
Actually, some people (a developer and a tester) managed to install it through the compatibility mode, which I do not know what it is, and some features worked, others didn't.

They just got finished making OA Vista compatible after much work. Why would anyone think it would be Win7 compatible by chance? LOL

From the first glance W7 doesn't look very different from Vista. But from the first glance I'd say W7 is very unstable at the moment. I think we have at least a year ahead until W7 starts to be really usable.

Actually, it might be closer then you think. I just did a clean windows install of 7 and I have issues, but I gave a try to install the latest beta of OA. There were no BSOD's from driver issues which is hugh. There was an error and the GUI crashed, but that might be easier to fix then driver errors.

Point now though is it worth the work until Win 7 is released.

W7 runs smooth as silk but they discourage you from installing any other web browser.

This build contains the first version of an OASIS database lookup :) So when you're downloading files, OA will check them automagically against the central database.

It is currently off by default - but this will change before release.

RegHide uses incompatibility of two different character tables between old system32 parts and Windows NT modules (I think Ascii and Unicode).

It does not do any hiding as such. Just a stupid left over of poor past Microsoft architecture. Reghides creates an antry using character set X (for instance Ascii), while Regedit uses character set Y (for instance Unicode). You can see it (non readable chatracters are displayed as spaces), but you can not edit it.

So it is not any short coming or disfunctioning of OA

    Cheers Kees

Very close, indeed. Actually the trick is to add the two ending zeroes to a key name and to use kernel functions to create a key. Kernel functions take strings by length and thus actual key name contains the two ending zeroes. Usermode API uses pchar strings, where string is terminated by a single ending zero. There is no way to make usermode API to use a string with the two ending zeroes, this is OS limitation which this trick successfully exploits.

Without getting 'overboard' I just want to say the latest build 3.1.0.20 (free) is running like a champ on my machine. Awesome!

Hope there are no problems for other users.:D :thumb:

So is the paid version .20 as we speak. I installed it a few hours ago and so far it's the best. You really need to let it soak a week to let it do its thing. By then you can make an intelligent assessment. :)

You'd better ask about it in GameGuard office, they seem to have A LOT of problems with VERY DIFFERENT security products. Symantec, Kaspersky, Comodo, Outpost ... etc etc etc

Sadly its true, gamegaurd tries to protect the game as much as the security suites :).

I see you have read my post over at OA. :D Why would it go directly into learning mode on bootup and remain there until I take it out?

Yes I did read that. I could only speculate on why !

I'm am wondering if you closed OA beta down while in learning mode thus it remembered that state and grimly held on to it?
