If it doesn't, you should be able to create custom rules for that.

Any ideas as to whether Online Armor Free will continue to be developed alongside the other OA offerings? I ask because I don't want to come to rely on it only for it to be abandoned.

I believe that it is still underdevelopment with emsisoft. The forum still has a beta going for it so I'm sure its being updated.

Man, that ship has already sailed for me! That is, I have already come to rely upon it. But if development were to cease, I'm confident that I could look around at what some of my Wilders' brethren are using and quickly find a suitable substitute!

I've been using Comodo for years tried OA twice didn't care for it. With Comodo you set it then forget it "no pop ups" :thumb:

    Pop-ups...

Yeah, OA does throw a lot of pop-ups even though you have clicked "Remember decision for any target"/Trust this program>Allow, "Remember my decision/Trust this program>Allow..
The learning mode is short (after reboot) but I see that there is a need to often revert back to it especially when you install 2 or 3 new applications in your system.

I remember that CIS ver5.4 is more quieter than OA now.

Lately Outpost Pro ver7.5.1 has more pop-ups now as compared to ver7.1....but it has a recommended Auto-Learn Mode for a week.

If OA Free will be abandoned (I hope not many do rely on it. I did before moving onto paid versions) then there's always Comodo, Outpost Suite Free and Privatefirewall:)

That's not available in the "free" version, however.

Well, I've installed OA Free and I must say I'm impressed. Even though it's the free version, it offers many great features. It's also pretty light too.

I have been assured from reliable (inside) sources that the "free" version will continue to be developed and is in development currently for anticipated future incarnations. :thumb:

Awesome. This certainly is a great free offering from Emsisoft.

I agree. I have been using OA for years (both free and "premium" versions).

To me it's the best of breed (knowing full well that opinions, individual needs and systems vary). :thumb:

(Off Topic: And just to plug Emsisoft's good work, I've been enjoying their Anti-Malware "Free" as well since I don't run a real-time A/V and it seems to fit the bill perfectly for a comprehensive on-demand scanner to complement Hitman Pro.)

How does OLAfree perform with Spyshelter's security test?
