Hi Mike. I'm trying the beta 3.5.0.7 free version and a clean Sandboxied Firefox starts in about 10 seconds now. I installed SBIE 3.34 in learning mode and everything is trusted.

Other than that, browsing is faster and boot up is about 10 seconds faster :thumb:.

I wonder what your FF is doing that causes that delays. Is it possible for you to install a logging version and give us logs ? Do you have any FF extensions installed, maybe we're conflicting with one somehow

I only have NoScript and AdBlockPlus extensions installed. I also still have the problem of the sandbox not deleting which I submitted logs for sometime last year (username balloonshark). Perhaps the 2 problems are related?

I'll do the logging version if your serious about fixing the problem. I also must say that I have an nlited version of XP SP3 installed which is usually blamed. It may or may not be the problem but I'm not the only one have these issues.

The nlited version cannot be the problem. I installed a 'full' XP Pro version, I had not turned of any services etc and still had those problems of not deleting and the slowdowns. I also did the loggings and also posted a topic on the forums last year.

PS: Never knew that you were balloonshark ;)

Good to know. My nlited version mainly includes some drivers, SP3 and a few mild changes. I also have manually disabled a few services and even got to the point that I re-enabled them to test.

I also see that Sandboxie's new version is out today but seriously doubt that it will help. I've been through several versions of Sbie and OA with the same problems. The deletion problem was easy to fix as I now use eraser to delete the sandbox.

All these problems should clear up with the next release. I've not had any Sandboxie, Firefox issues at all.

There was an issue, but it's been fixed.

I'm running beta 3.5.0.7 so are you saying it's fixed in a newer in-house test version?

It should be fixed in .7 - if you're having problems, would seriously appreciate logs as it could be something specific in your config. Either way, as far as I am aware at the moment our Beta team (and dev team) cannot reproduce the issue

Where is this beta 3.5.0.7? This is the second time I've seen a referance to it, and checking the beta forum the latest is .6 . o_O

Thanks Mike. Looking forward to the results :). I'll keep this version installed for a while as it seems stable.

Mike, I'm back to using my old image with Sandboxie 3.32 and OA free 3.0.0.190 and tried something new which member ssj100 suggested. If I set Firefox to start as a Forced Program in sandbox setting, I get normal 3 second start times.

P.S. No hurry to reply, I understand that you all need a break after this new release.

I notice the issue described on this topic. I am using Firefox 3.5 RC2, Sandboxie Free 3.38 and OA Free 3.5.0.14. When I shutdown OA Firefox starts much faster, about 4-5s (with OA on starts slower, about 15s).

Obviously there is some problem but I am not sure is it between Sandboxie and OA or is it the problem regarding Firefox because Firefox has very slow start up anyway, significantly slower than IE, Chrome or Opera.

Do you have any plugins in your FF?

My first guess would be to disable them temporarily and see if that helps.

Zimzi, Go in Sandboxie Control and then Sandbox - DefaultBox (or whatever your sandbox name is) - Sandbox Settings - Applications - Security/Privacy and see if Online Armor has a Plus sign (+) next to it. If it does not then click Online Armor then Add then Apply and Ok.

Mike, innerpeace, thanks for helping! :thumb:

Innerpeace, yes, this is a solution for the "OA does not like Sandboxie" problem. Thanks one more time.
