Is it yet possible to install/use NOD32 as an on-demand only scanner whose processes are active exclusively during scanning? Simply: is there a way to close all processes after an on-demand scanning?
both NOD32 processes will still run. To turn them off, go to Administrative Tools-> Services and set NOD32 to Manual and restart your computer.
In addition to unchecking the option shown in the screen shot above, you'd also want to go to AMON > Setup > Security tab and uncheck Enable automatic startup of AMON. Otherwise, AMON will always be enabled whenever you boot. Also, after you Quit in the NOD32 Control Center (and confirm), nod32kui.exe (the Control Center/tray icon application) will exit. That leaves the NOD32 kernel service, nod32krn.exe, running. Disabling it in services.msc and rebooting should take care of that, but I've never tried doing so. I also wouldn't recommend doing so, because nod32krn.exe is the process that obtains updates to NOD32.
