    Hello,

I've installed OmniPage SE4 that I've got bundled with my Canon printer & scanner. In my firewall I prohibited the software to access network, when it attempted to do so.

Since then, everything connected with networking stopped functioning (browser, ping, telnet,...). E.g. ping was reporting "Unable to contact IP driver, error code 1". The firewall shows that whenever I try to connect to internet, the opwareSE4.exe driver(?) is activated. I allowed access to network for this driver, and everything started to function again.

Can anyone tell me, if this means that OmniPage replaced the system IP driver with its own? And if yes, why should an "optical character recognition" software need to install its own IP driver?

    Thanks,
    Martin.
