    hi,

I recently installed the Ogg/ogm Codec from 'free-codecs' and when it starts up in the taskbar it for some reason uses about 30-60% cpu. I was just wondering if any one uses it and do they get similar problems?

    Thanks for any info

First of all, I don't trust sites which host those codec packs. Because almost
all of them has pirated codecs. In case you are using one of those then just
uninstall it and get Winamp. You'll get a good player with features and the
    latest OGG encoder/decoder.

Codecs do not startup automatically. They are invoked only when the related
media is being played. So I think you are using some kind of application. Just
let us know what did you download and what is the name of the application.

I personally use Winamp for all my OGGy needs :)
