    Hi,

I need suggestion for purchasing MS Office 2007. Office 2010 will be released in H1 of 2010. Is it worthwhile to buy 2007 now or wait for 2010? The reason is 2010 *may* take long time to mature with SP releases, bug fixes etc. Does anyone have similar experience while buying 2007 over 2003 as soon as the former was released?

    Regards,
    Avboy.

If you need it now badly, than yes buy 2007 version but if you can wait till 2010 than it is better to wait. For me, newer office versions have been relatively bug free.

IIRC Office 2007 was pretty much bug free upon release. I'm not sure what advances 2010 has over 2007 but I know a lot of people still use the 2003 product and like it better than 2007. The one thing for sure is if you search around you can probably find some pretty hefty discounts. For instance, I got 2007 Office Enterprise for $21 which was the cost of processing/shipping. Which version of 2007 were you considering?

First thing to do is see if you get a discount through school or work. If you work at a company that uses MS Office you may qualify for a discount. Maybe human resources will know or they can apply for the MS "home use" program. That's how I got mine. Otherwise, check out sites like slickdeals.net.

Check the "Ultimate Steal" website to see if they'll have the promotions for Office 2010 as well. I got my copy of Office 2007 Ultimate for ~$60.
