    Hi All
    Unfortunately I'm stuck on dial-up.
I've given up trying to download TI 7.
Instructions say not to use a download accelerator.Trouble is,without one,the large download is hopeless. It always times out, then you lose all that was downloaded.

With all that said, here is my question:
When you buy a boxed CD of TI 7,what build is it?
I mean is it the newest version, and how do you tell? The reason I ask is that I noticed that the newest update available on the support site is to build 613,and that download is 20MB. Now if I can't download the original program due to timeouts,I'll never be able to get the update either.

So,does anybody know what build the current boxed CD of TI 7 is?
Is it build 613? Also, are the update files always so large?

I'm disabled and homebound,so I can't just run out to the store and check.
Can't seem to find build numbers on the TI site,or any other online source store where the boxed CD is available.
    Thanks,Rich

    Thanks Anton!
I'm downloading as I write this.
Can you tell me just what I'm downloading?
    By that I mean:
    1) Is this a demo copy, and not an update?
    2) After purchasing, can I activate this copy to fully functional?

    Still curious about updates.
When issued, can just the update be downloaded,or do you have to download a whole new program?

    Regards,Rich

    Hi, amoeba

To find what build Version you have.

Start Ti and where it says Help Left click it, and then Left click on about, you will see the Build Version Number there.

It is not a Demo but the full Build.
    Yes for sure.
It will not work without a activation key. [will not Install]

All updates are a full program, that way WE all have the full build and not bits of a Product Program.

That I do not know but I doubt it, depends on how long it been on the shop shelf.
As said above Yes. [full program]

    Thanks for your response.

Concerning version+build,I know how to find that once the program is installed.I was wondering if there was a way to tell before you actually buy the CD.Doesn't matter now--I have the download.

Thanks for letting me know the dload is the full build, and that I need the activation key to install it.That will save me some time.

Unfortunate for me concerning the updates. Each being a full program I mean.I understand the reasoning, but with the next build I will be out of date and once again back to my "unable to download" problem. This due to the "use no accelerators policy" when downloading.Oh well,I'm thankful for what I have now,and will worry about what I can't get later.

Time to purchase, install and reap the benefits of what I perceive to be a GREAT program.
    Regards,Rich

Just wanted to post a follow-up to my obtaining TI 7 download.
The link Anton provided worked just fine. Thanks Anton!

I prepared my system by running full scans with updated AVG 7,AdAware6 Plus and Pest Patrol.Deleted all junk files, then chkdsk and defrag.Backed up the registry with ERUNT.Ran a backup with WinRescueXP,and made a new restore point with XP System Restore. Turned off antivirus and spyware programs, then installed TI 7.

Installation went without a hitch, created the restore boot disk.
Read the .pdf manual, started the program and imaged my primary system disk to my external USB drive.Verified the image--All OK.

This whole process went very smoothly,as represented and without a hitch.
All in all,a very pleasing experience.Kudos to TheQuest, and Anton!
    Regards,Rich
