Runsafer uses the winsafer API to start a process at lowered rights. If that process starts another process, it too will have lowered rights.

That's why it's so cool to set your internet programs as runsafer... IE, Word, Excel, Outlook, and so on... anything they start would have lowered rights.

Yes I know, I wasn´t thinking specifically of this class of malware in regard to aigle's post, rather "traditional" virus etc. exploiting security gaps in OS/apps. Thanks for the reminder though
