    Hi Kees

    Runsafer uses the winsafer API to start a process at lowered rights. If that process starts another process, it too will have lowered rights.

    That's why it's so cool to set your internet programs as runsafer... IE, Word, Excel, Outlook, and so on... anything they start would have lowered rights.

    I should have made runsafer a paid feature :D

    Yep

    When running in XP, the combo EQS and OA free tackle everything

    In my opinion the strongest and lightest freebie set.

    Ok thanks for all the advice/answers.
    GeSWall free for Opera and IE (when IE gets used, which is rare)
    OA's runsafer for IM. :D

    Yes I know, I wasn´t thinking specifically of this class of malware in regard to aigle's post, rather "traditional" virus etc. exploiting security gaps in OS/apps. Thanks for the reminder though ;)
