On one of my older PCs with FD IRS classic I find I cannot update snapshots or create new archives without serious amounts of errors.

On closer investigation chkdsk vol /f/ r reveals that the $BITMAP is inconsistent.

Booting from the C: drive chkdsk says it cannot get exclusion access from a boot disk the error does not seem to get fixed

As check disk does not seem able to fix it I am at a loss as to how to correct it. I have not tried un-installing FD - not directly a FD problem.

Drive seems fine except for the error ...Any ideas?
