Warning. I just got 2 of these phishing emails in my junk mail folder.

I say phishing as I'm not a member of paypal.

    hey Escalader,
    forward the email to spoof@paypal.com

any phishing emails I get I forward to the correct address so the company can get the domain shutdown.

I get these all the time, and I am a member of paypal. But knowing they never do this, I just trash them.

This is essentially just one of many similar phishing things making the rounds for quite a while now. Probably the second most common one, very similar, is supposedly from "your" bank (any bank, actually, which is really stupid if you know darned well you don't and never have dealt with that particular bank).

With particular regard to this Paypal one, the giveaway is the "Dear PayPal Member" opening. Paypal has for ages made it clear to its members that any legit email from them (e.g., promotional offers) will always address you by your full name (or company name, if that's how you're registered). So any variation on "dear member" is inherently a fake.

    Thanks lodore.

When ever these silly emails appear I never seem to have the forwarding links handy.

So like Pete I just trash and warn here in case they are new.

Yes, in fact my bank has said many times they don't send email ever asking for account information.
