i also noticed sometimes pages seem to what i would call doubloe load. the progress bar would go to 100% and the whole page would be up then the page would flash a second and the bar would quickly go back up to 100%.. it was far from the worst i have used as far as http scanning but no where near the speed of nod or avira. even kaspersky was much faster at http scanning

well if you disable http scanning to get more speed that IMO that's a security mistake & yes I have nod v3, it's a bit heavier but only by a smidge. I have 1.5 mem, clean my registry, use tuneup2007 for tweaks, tweakvista to adjust stupid vista stuff & run diskeeper 2007. I run a fairly clean machine as well but I don't turn off features of security for speed...

I have NIS2008 on my PC for a while and I really don't see that http scanning is making my webbrowsing slow. I didn't see any speedups when I tried a clean install of Vista with ESS. And KIS is nice but it makes my Visa email gadget useless...

I had problems with NIS at first on page loading in IE7 until I realized that I had two phishing filters on, IE7's built-in and NIS, so I turned IE7's off.

The browser toolbars are a lot less conspicuous than in the '07 version. I leave mine on to control Identity Safe.
