    Hi.

I want to scan my pc from symantec online scan but i want to ask if i scan will i scan with version 2009 and with their SONAR because i've heard that this new technology SONAR of symantec is detecting alot of nasty things.

So does anyone know if they use Sonar and ver2009 on their online scan ?

SONAR is a behavioral blocker component which has many part taken from Norton Anti-Bot. So a scan w/o SONAR will not make much difference. SONAR kicks in during real-time protection.

The online scanner uses the latest engine and pattern definitions as used in Norton 2009. But be aware that Symantec Online Scanner only detects threats and does not remove them.

If you want to do a scan remove threats too, I suggest using online scanner of BitDefender, ESET, F-Secure or Trend Micro Housecall.
