Norton / Symantec Internet Security and AV - bum rap for resource usage?

    I unfortunately had problems with NIS 2006. Still like it but not on this PC right now...(See post)

    Lollan reminded me of something. I was on the Symantec site and tried their Online active support. It said that there was a new version of Live Update (3.0 I think). I clicked for Symantec to fix it and they installed the new LiveUpdate.

    My question, could something like this cause a slowdown?? It is only one small part of the program.

    I doubt the newest version of LiveUpdate has anything to do with your problem or any slowdown; if anything the new version of LU is more efficient because it installs itself as a service and no longer depends on the Windows Task Scheduler. HTH .. ;)

    It,s really to bad too. I really like the set-up. I just do not have the time right now to figure out what is going on.
