    Hi Gang,

A long story, but I'll keep it short (and change the names to protect the innocent). I saved a friends data to a hard drive, ran a recovery disk that started Norton Ghost (I thought it was virus checking) - and consequently lost the data.

My question being...does anyone know if this data is recoverable? Without spending a King's ransom on getting it back.

The data was course work for school (lots of). Music files and photo's! There was 1.5Gb in total. I'm really cross with myself, because I had saved it to a second hard disk drive. And it was just plain stupidity that made me 'run' the recovery disk, my friend thought she had lost it - she had, but this was from another (similar make PC).

UK members will know (if they watch Father Ted?) I just had one of those "Don't press the big red button Dougal!" moments.

    Regards to all, Pete.

    Any advice greatfully recieved.
