    Hi Trooper,
That is for 2011, but you can upgrade it to 2012.

    Best Regards,
    Ziaul

I just tried this in a VM and it does work. I installed the 90 day trial of NIS 2011 first and activated it. That makes the trial key available in your account at MyNortonAccount.com. Then I clicked on new version check in NIS 2011 - it opened the browser and provided a link to upgrade to NIS 2012. After 2012 installs you have the option to enter a key and it will accept the 90 day trial key. Fortunately NIS installs and upgrades quickly so it doesn't take too long to do it this way, but it would be nice if they simply offered a 90 day trial for NIS 2012.

I bought two licenses free after rebate in the past few months. Hard to beat getting one of the, if not the, best programs out there for free.

I am in the slow group, and have not determined the difference or advantages of Norton 360 vs Norton IS.
    Any help for me??
    Thanks, Jerry

AFAICT the only functional difference is N360 has a Backup component and comes with 2gigs of online backup. If the Backup feature is not needed it can be turned off.

In addition to what Victek said about backup provisions, N360 also adds disk cleaning & defrag tools (but imho they are no better than generally available freeware). I personally prefer NIS over N360 as I don't need the extra 'stuff'.

Frys.com has Norton 360 for 3 PC on sale this week for $4.99 after rebate. I don't know if you can take advantage of it since you're in the EU, but have a look here:

    http://www.frys.com/product/6526243?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

I know, it's not NIS, but functionally it actually is NIS :)

The detection would be the same. It lacks too many settings that NIS has for me to use it, but that would be some people's preference. There are always free trials. Always a good idea before buying a product you are not familiar with. Hard to beat $4.99.

The only setting I noticed not present in Norton 360 Version 5.0 is the ability to set-up and schedule your own scans. That is not the case with Norton 360 Version 6.0.

Free is tempting. I hate the prepaid cards though.
