Norman virus signature database

I"ve recently tracked Norman updates and they are really huge. They seem to improve a lot and to become a big player in AV companies endagering Norton, KAV, McAfee, etc.

I don't have it installed but does someone know how many signatures does it have in its database ? I haven't seen this info on their website.

They have also good heuristics and viruses in database are not an indicator for its detection rates but I'm just curious.

number of virus sigs is unknown / not given.

 

that's bad. They are giving anyway the number of signatures added everyday but I don't have time to count them. Anyway are you going to test it in this august test?

the last couple of updates has hadded 10,000+ sigs, but havent they missed the boat for this month's on-demand test?

OK, Brian, I'm working on them right now. There is a piece of cake for me.

 

93,195 but that's just what's been added since the end of 2001, and doesnt include variants, etc. but i still get a prize, right?!

 

93,250 You're wrong. There were 2 updates not included there. 1.1708 and 1.1709 .
