    TI build 2337.
    I want to use this program to do back ups of several partitions on my drive.
    For simplicity I would like to do them on the largest possible data source.
    I would like to use a ReWritable Dual Layer DVD.
    Is this possible?

    I tried to use a Dual Layer disc & could not get it to work just kept asking for a disc. If I buy ReWritable dvds will I have the same issue?

    I don't think TI currently writes directly to DVD; you need to use a 3rd party app. Do a search (or wait a bit) and you'll get the answer.

    yes- you can use this program to backup to dvd's. You frist need to have rewritable "DVD+RW" "dvd disks and have a 3rd party writing application such as Nero INCD 4 or Roxio.
    Then you'll be all set.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello selkov,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Yes, it's posible. However, please be aware that the current version of Acronis True Image doesn’t write to DVD directly, instead it utilizes third party UDF packet DVD writing software.

    You can find more information on how to write your images to DVD in this FAQ article.

    Please also note that the ability to write images to DVD directly will be implemented in the future builds/versions of a particular software, but exact time frame is not decided yet.

    In case you have the appropriate UDF packet DVD writing software installed and all of your DVDs are properly formatted according to the above mentioned FAQ article, but you still can not write your images to DVD, please collect the following information:

    - Create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post;

    - Reproduce the problem and collect Acronis True Image 9.0 log which can be saved from Tools -> Show Log -> Diskette icon;

    - Have you received any error messages? What exact error messages? When exactly you received them?

    - Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.

    Submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the information about your purchase of Acronis software (order number, e-mail, where did you purchase our product, etc.) and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution

    Thank you.

    Hello selkov,

    Please note that we do not expect any problems with using DVD+R DL in Acronis True Image 9.0. Please remember that you should use UDF formatted DVD discs. If a DVD disc is not formatted, Acronis True Image 9.0 will ask you to format it.

    Thank you.

    Hello selkov,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please note that DVD+RW and DVD-RW discs can be formatted by any of the third-party UDF-packet DVD-writing applications, while DVD+R at this moment should be formatted only by Roxio Drag To Disc.

    Please also read the information about writing to DVDs in our FAQ: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/faq.html#27

    There is also another method for writing to DVD. You can create an image as a single file on the hard disk itself and then you can copy the file using your own DVD-writing software to the DVD. If the image size is too large, you should split it into several parts during the image creation on the Image Archive Splitting window.

    You can also find more information on how to use Acronis True Image 9.0 in the respective User's Guide.

    Thank you.
