I was trying to install "over the top" as many has said works fine here with problems. I am upgrading from the 2.51.20 to the 2.51.26 version (Win XP Pro). I have tried twice "over the top", and also did and uninstall, deleted ESET folder and any few leftover registry keys, but still receive the error. I have to restore my system to a previous image in order to get NOD32 back but am still not able to get the newest version to install no matter what I may try. Attached is a screenshot of the exact error I receive each time. I have searched the forum but only seem to find vague reference to this problem. Can anyone help?

    Hi Kent,
if you have already restarted the computer and the problem still persist, run setup.exe with the /test parameter and set nsetup.log to support[at]eset.com with a link to this thread.

    Hi Marcos,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Running setup.exe with the /test parameter returns an error but does not generate any log "nsetup.log" for me to send in. I do not have a C:/ drive as E:/ is my main drive, so what I run is "E:\Program Files\ESET\Setup\setup.exe" /test

Attached is the error that I receive:

    Hi Marcos,

Correction: After trying this three times, on the third time the log was created and now an email has been sent to the address requested.

Kent, didn't you run setup.exe from within the eset/setup folder by chance?

Yub. The manifest (xml) file is not in the same folder.

    Thanks Marcos/Mike,

Yes, I did as that is the only setup.exe file I have, but evidently I have interpreted something wrong?

You may not run setup.exe from the Setup folder, but from the Install folder instead.

    Hi Marcos,

Sorry about my confusion  , but now the correct nsetup.log has been emailed after running setup.exe /test from the Install folder (NOT the Setup folder  ).

    Thanks for your patience.

    Hi Marcos,

I received a reply from Mark and have in turn sent him an updated response.
