I notice in the task manager for NOD32
that you cannot remove all of the items or you
come up with an 'orange' eye in the task bar
so you have to leave something!
I have check for update by event only in there
can or is there a trick to remove all like in version 2.7
I like to be the boss of all my software and its updates
    thank you

You can enable/disable many of the features (email protection, web protection, etc.) from the advanced setup tree.
If this doesn't answer your question, please rephrase.
    Thank you.

I just want have total control over version four like in verion 2.7
If you remove all of the items in the planner area *see image
you end with an orange eye in task bar
I should not have to have it update until I update it[or am I missing something?]

O.K. It seems you need at least one box checked (Regular update or update after logon). What happens if you forget to manually update and your definitions are several days out of date? Doesn't the AV still work even if the icon is red?

It'll work. It'll even work once your license has run out (it won't update) but if you are not up to date it might miss some new viruses.
