Yes - I've edited the config file.

Sorry about the delete - cocked up the image loading!

I should have said that I have tried both with & without the semi-colon.
I have inserted the missing space and used my gmail password, both with and without the @gmail.com and the mailserver at localhost is still saying that the sending of user name did not succeed as gmail.com is a unsupported domain.

Did you check that the Stunnel service is running?

Yes, the service s running, started automatically according to the services list.
Is this dependant on any other specific services running, as I have disabled quite a few of "unnecessary" services, following advice on the site run by Black Viper.

Are all the programs allowed through your firewall?

Also try a uninstall/reinstall of Stunnel and double check that the settings for Stunnel and Thunderbird are correct.

    All allowed AFAIK:

I use NOD32 which as you probably know works at winsock level and has caused a couple of problems in blocking a particular chat room could this be it?
This is the second time I have tried Stunell and I had just the same series of problems - I gave up!
Perhaps I should give up now & just rely on AMON to scan files on opening!!

Blow it - the image is too small to see! BUT Stunnel is allowed any direction TCP & UDP

Rogervernon, now that I have stunnel working correctly, if you like I can email you as an attachment the stunnel configuration I have and you can just replace mine with yours. I don't know if it will help any since you have already done all that.

Also, if you like I will send you screenshot of my gmail account server settings. I also use Comodo so I can send you rules I have setup if that would help.

Let me know if you are interested and maybe PM me your email? Let me know what you need. Sorry I can't be of any other help.
