Sure thing, how far back do you want it? I cant exactly tell you when the auto update quit functioning, do you want the complete log since november 05 2004?

I´ll copy-and-paste the update part, i hope thats the one you want to check, right?

2004-11-05 22:06:50 Update Function: DownloadAuthorization, parameters: , return value: 401

When does your subscription run out?

I would suggest that you are up for renewal.

    Cheers :D

OK, so what you are seeing is a rejection of the Username or Password. The UN and PW is CASE SENSITIVE, and as such must be typed in precisely, better still COPY and PASTE each into the Control Centre\Update\update\Setup

Be careful not to copy a "space" at the end of your PW as Nod32 will see this as part of your PW and reject it.

    Cheers :D

Thanks for your answers. As i pointed out in my first post the auto update function has been working very well from day 1 when i installed NOD32, but now it suddenly ceased to function. I have not made any changes whatsoever to the setup. It is still possible to do a manual update by forcing it through the "Update now" button in the NOD32 Control Center. That makes it hard for me to believe that this is a user/password issue.

The only explanation for this behaviour is that the Automatic update task uses a different profile with expired username and password.

This issue though has only cropped up since placing in your renewal UN and PW from what you said above.

Can you download a FRESH copy of Nod32 from www.nod32.com

    Uninstall Nod32

Remove the Eset Folder from C Drive> Program Files.

Reinstall the FRESH copy of Nod32 that you downloaded above.

Let us know how you go…

    Cheers :D

Again, thank you for your efforts to help me. I have not replaced any username and password at all since this is a newly bought license and there´s no need for any renewal information. The username/password used here is the one and only i´ve got and the one and only ever used.

I´ll download a new copy from the website and do as suggested.....i´ll even go one step further and remove any reminiscences from the registry

So.....i´ve uninstalled, did a reg clean and reinstalled NOD32, scheduled regular automatic updates once every hour (the default setting) and when checking the logs there´s only one entry and that´s the update made when installing. But.....when checking the scheduler it says that it triggers automatic updates once every hour, as configured. So hopefully this will work again, can´t really say before a new virus signature file is available.......we´ll have to wait :D
