    Hello,

I am new to NOD32 so pls bear with me.

I always see in the events log that NOD32 keeps sending statistical information back to home.

I'm wondering what kind of information are they? And what's the function?

Does disabling DMON and EMON the same as unloading the two modules?

I'm using Thunderbird and OpenOffice, I'm wondering if I will sacrifice anything disabling the two.

    Thank you.

I can assure you that none of your personal information is being compromised. Marcos or HB will provide more info on this. :)

Leave DMON enabled since it's for scanning of Office documents.
But you can disable EMON since you use Thunderbird.

Short answer: you can disable it if you wish.

    NOD32 System Tools | NOD32 System Setup | Setup | ThreatSense.Net... uncheck "Enable ThreatSense.Net Early Warning System".

If you want more detailed control, click "Advanced settings..." and there is a tab specifically for Statistics.

Research is better than short answer. GreenWhite needs to understand the WHY not just the WHAT and the HOW.

    Thanks a lot.

    I have DMON enabled.

So the phoning home is for ThreatSense, I can leave it on.

Indeed, and it helps Eset improve Nod32.

    Cheers :D
