NOD32 not recognised?

    Windows XP does not recognise NOD32 as an antivirus program and prompts to get such protection installed..."windows does not detect an antivirus program". Also have had this message from other sources but have usually ignored them. Any explanations please?

    It recognizes the Newest Version. 2.12.1

    My mistake....no I have not dl the latest version..I assumed, obviously wrongly, that NOD32 was self updating. Thanks for your assistance

    It will self-update/ or advise there is a component update in time...
