    Hi all,

I am having problems performing backups with NOD32 active. I have a couple of folders on my C: drive that I've excluded from protection, since they contain tech tools that are considered 'threats' - no problem so far. However, whenever Windows performs a backup, Eset gets in the way, cause the files usually excluded are now in \Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy*, and the backup fails, even if I happen to be around to click 'No action'.

I tried adding \Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy* to exclusions, but since it's a temporary location (* is a random number, different for each snapshot), Eset just tells me I try to enter an invalid path to exclusions.

Now, this is a nightmare - I can't perform backups! And my only option seems to be uninstalling my virus protection - no go! Any ideas?!

    TIA,
    Örjan

    Hello,

The path you tried to add: \Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy* is not a valid path. It needs to be an actual file path.
