Interesting. I've noticed that NOD32 significantly slows down:
    - F-pup (a free auto-updater and interface for F-prot DOS)
    - F-Prot DOS
    - Xen (a batch file for cleaning computers - pretty good, actually)

Also, the last time I scanned with Spybot, it found a "possible extension hijack attempt" - something had changed the way that my computer reads .com files or something. Could this cause the effects that I have observed?

Btw, NOD32 trial is 30 days, isn't it?

When you use others AV, disable AMON because any file that the other AV scan is scanned by AMON too. Reactivate AMON when the scan with the other AV is done-

It can be a false positive or a new malware. Try to scan using ad-aware and then NOD with /ah command.

Yes, NOD32 trial version can be updated during 30 days, after this period, you need to purchase it or remove from your PC.

Ah, thanks. I didn't know that memory-resident scanning could interfere with on-demand scanning. Please forgive my n00berness. ;)
