NOD32 2.70.16 Lag on Startup

Hello.

I am running an Intel Celeron 2.60 GHZ computer with 256 DDRAM. The only software I am running is NOD32 2.70.16. I am not running any other spyware applications, or firewall of any sort, since it tends to lag my system.

Recently I installed NOD32, and noticed considerable lagging time when Windows XP booted up to the desktop. I must usually wait 1 -2 minutes in order to perform any actions. This doesn't happen if I uninstall NOD32, but persists when NOD32 boots up with Windows.

My question is what causes this slow lagging process in the beginning, that tends to falter out as time continues?

It would be very helpful for any replies on this matter.

Have you tried the latest version 2.70.25?

Could be a combination of low memory (256 MB for winXP is very little) and the slowdown some of us see caused by MS Automatic Updater hogging 100% CPU.

Disable MS Automatic Update for a while, see if it makes a difference!

Umm... I tried the update.

It seems to be working better than before, the lag time has decreased significantly! Thanks!!!
