After installing NOD32 for Exchange 2.7 on SBS2003 with SP2 and Exchange SP2, the Exchange Information Store service (MSExchangeIS) crashes repeatedly (it is set to automatically restart on failure).

I have configured the exceptions as per MS KB articles:

The errors in the System log are:
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Service Control Manager
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 7031
    Date: 18/11/2009
    Time: 7:46:05 AM
    User: N/A
    Computer: SERVER-01
    Description:
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 10 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

The errors in the Application log are:
    Event Type: Warning
    Event Source: MSExchangeIS
    Event Category: General
    Event ID: 9672
    Date: 18/11/2009
    Time: 7:46:05 AM
    User: N/A
    Computer: SERVER-01
    Description:
A stack exception was thrown in module C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll; some parameters and their values were <Exception address - 7c83156f>. A significant section of the call stack is in the data section.

    For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.
    Data:
<Data section removed to save space>

    No other antivirus is installed.
I have had to disable AMON and XMON to ensure the Exchange Information Store service continues to run.

    All assistance appreciated.

    Hello the_epoch,

There is a Knowledgebase article located at the address below with suggestions on setting up 2.7 for Exchange. I would recommend looking through this article to double check the exclusions you have set up and notice that the bottom of the page has some ESET specific options to modify.

    Thanks Wayne,
Unfortunately, the ESET KB article relates to Exchange 2007 and not to Exchange 2003. Eset don't seem to have any information on their site relating to Exchange 2003 (even though it is still widely in use).

The user manual for 2.7 does mention the exclusion list for Exchange; still nothing specifically about SBS2003 though! The user manual also doesn't mention Deselecting the Scan All Files check box either as per the Eset KB article.
The other concern with the KB article is that when you deselect the Scan All Files check box, EML file extensions are still scanned, even though this is by default a File Extension exclusion for AMON.

I'll test this check box and see what effect it has. However, the rest of the article is of no use to my environment.

Where's the Ex2k3 information Eset? Better yet, where's the SBS2003 information?
