Yes, it's the default for all the programs...

    Re: Settings for Max Protection

With the previous version normally, with the same time and computer usage, "nod32krn.exe" takes about 4secs and now I'm with 18sec...

I think the problem is the client compatibility text in IMON Setup is written as though it is higher efficiency that is the default.

    Re: Module Overlap and Recommendations

Sorry i couldn't quote both of your post.
@ SPM : I totally Agree. FAR FAR to many mouse click and redendant settings. Both of your post so far in this thread has bascially taken words out of my mouth. I surely hope NOD32 3 will do something about it. Honestly you could do a lot with current GUI setting. Newbies friendly doesn't always mean Flashy and Colour like Giant Spyware or Nortons Interface.

Don't you think it is right? So many enhancement and you still call it version 2.13? How is that going to sell?

If i were their marketing department head this would have been Version 3 already. Compare to norton releasing new version every year with no improvement.

    Hello there!

In AMON, the "Advanced Heuristics" option is available only as "Method on create" Why is that? Does it mean that the files on, say, CD-ROM are not scanned using "Advanced Heuristics?" Not created/modified, just accessed (more than enough to get infected by NewHeur_PE attackers).
    Or am I mistaken?

    Cheers

Since the program change was caught by ProcessGuard, my overnight scan did not start until I approved the execution, which means NOD32 is scanning as I do my morning surfing. So far, no noticeable major drag on the system during a complete system scan. I can see a bit of a delay in webpage loading, but not one to be concerned about, nor significantly greater than with the prior versions.

Stability so far is great. I personally do prefer the look and feel of the EMON setup dialog box, but regardless of how it goes, the setup screens should have a consistent format. This point has already been noted by others.

Am I missing something or is there no way to set Heuristic depth in 2.5?

    They're pretty good figures.
Mine didn't score quite as well although I should mention that all the viruses found were either in old client backups (Redhand Security components) or in quarantine.

    Date: 31.3.2005 Time: 18:48:36
    Scanned disks, folders and files: C:; D:; L:; M:; N:; S:; T:; U:; V:; Y:; Z:
    Number of scanned files: 963362
    Number of viruses found: 42
Time of completion: 20:50:08 Total scanning time: 7292 sec (02:01:32)

I'm happy so far. Nice features and tweaks. Also its nice to see the help file updated for AMON to better explain the exclusions.

Wouldn't it be a bit of fun if we had a NOD32 benchmark or program or something, perhaps a bit like the Cryptosuite Benchmark?

I had to uninstall the NOD32 because I can't received and sent email from Thunderbird, and the Trillian didn't connect through the messengers... :(

After a clean install it seems that now they work... :)

So it's BETTER for everyone to make a clean install to test this beta version.

I had to reinstall the NOD32, and on a clean install this beta version have a beta username and password to use it... :)

First of all,Jotti is using only final versions and even those are Linux versions,so they don't have anything to do with this new NOD32 2.5 BETA.

I wonder which version they use. And this detected sample isn't anything new. Its detected by majority anyway.

It would be nice to be able to right click on files that come up during the scan and browse to the directory they are in or pull up a "file properties" box

WHen long filenames are involved double clicking on the column width line at the top right of the "scanning log" view panel doesn't extend the width to the full size of the line, you need to manually drag it out to the right before the scroll bar can take you to see and read the entire line on the screen

I'll second the call for a Pause button on the scan, although using process explorer and "suspend" works just as well - nod could usefully perform a memory scan again after the resume...

How many resident scanners detect part files? Do they all? Because NOD32 is the only scanner I've experienced that will detect these part files as they are incoming.
