NOD Kernel + unreadable CD/DVD can freeze my PC?

Not so comfortable.
If you wish I'll send the CD to Eset for testing purposes, hopeing in a fix.

Is "Optimized scanning" unstabling?

I'm facing some rare problem finding my pc unstable and non responsive (mouse moving, only alt-tab working, hard reset needed).

I've noticed that this happens sometimes if deleteing some process in the starting state (clciking on the control box) and then trying to switch to task manager.

The result is the same when unreadable CD inserted and autoplay and amone enabled.

I'm wondering if Optimize scan, manages a queue of files to be checked by Amon and gets stuck in the queue somewhere...

Any hint?

Form your posts here I have noticed you have lots of programs on your computer and different things that might possibly cause some kind of conflict .

I would recommend you contact ESET Tech Support and send them log file of HijackThis and MS AutoRuns so that they can help you .

Yes , but for question like yours you'd better get private help by email . Moreover , it is Wilders policy that HijackThis log files are not allowed here unless they are asked by specialist/moderator

 

Trapped the problem within AMON !!!

You'll recall my problems with NOD->Amon and unreadable CD ore some circumstances. The beheaviour was unresponsive computer only ALT-TAB working, hard reset needed.

I've finally found a file that halts the computer when Amon is enabled and gets stuck on it, when reading it.

Hopefully Eset will fcheck this horrible bug and fix it! Monday I'm sending a copy to Eset Labs!

BTW, when disabling Amon to test problem persistance, I've notice how much faster is a directory browsing... did 2.7 got quite slower than 2.5
