NOD 32 Error: failed reading 2048 bytes from stream

I have been experiencing an issue whereby some of my hourly automatic updates are completing succesfully, whereas others produce approximately 25 errors (all within a couple of minutes) with the message

"During execution of XMON - Antivirus Monitor for MS Exchange Server on the computer SERVER, the following warning occurred: Failed reading 2048 bytes from stream."

Then after these error messages I usually receive the following error:

"During execution of Update on the computer SERVER, the following warning occurred: Update attempt failed (Downloaded file is damaged.)"

This began 13 days ago despite there being no configuration changes made to the server. I have tried reinstalling NOD32 but the problem persists.

It's not actually an error, just a note that XMON was trying to read data beyond the stream. Installing the latest version of XMON 2.51.15 will supress this message.

 

Ok thankyou. However, is it a concern that I receive the other message:

"Update attempt failed (Downloaded file is damaged.)"

The reason for my concern is that this issue appeared abruptly on 6/05/2006 and has been consistent ever since, and I am not aware of why the issue has eventuated.

 

The other error message can be caused by a Cisco router. Install XMON 2.51.15 to see if it makes a difference.

 

My next question is... how do I install the latest version of XMON? Every time I click 'Update Now', it displays that it is downloading various files but then I find errors in the log such as the following:

As you can see I attempted to update NOD32 three times, but none of them were successful.

 

To update my previous post; after several more attempts I was able to perform a succesful update but only the virus definitions were updated, the XMON version remains at 2.50.16. Is there another way to update the program components?

 

I have installed the lastest version of XMON (2.51.15) and I am still having the same problem. Please help... I have received 975 error emails from NOD32 since 4/05/2006 (in the last 20 days).

 

I have asked for someone from Eset to revisit this issue for you...

How did you install XMON v. 2.51.15? Did you uninstall the previous one? Did you restart the computer after you'd installed it?

The latest version supresses the message so there's no reason why it would still appear in the log.

 

Originally I had only installed the new version and restarted the server.

I have since tried uninstalling prior to installing the latest version. This appears to have solved the problem.
