Since installing Nod32 3.0.669.0 I can no longer access the internet unless I put an "X" in the box beside IE in the Advanced > Web access protection > HTTP > Web browsers window.

    Is this safe?

Am I missing something in the set up?

I assume that there is another firewall installed which blocks ekrn.exe. Could this be the case?

The Windows firewall is running. Before installation, I removed Norton Internet Security. Also, Webroot Spysweeper is installed, but does not start with the system; I only run it on demand.

    Problem solved!!!

After much scrutiny, I found an error log detailing an error when I removed Symantec. Symantec told me the removal went fine. They were wrong. I restarted in safe mode and removed a folder called Symantec Shared dll. Problem solved.
